The Advanced / Elite Residential Goalkeeper Academy Camp is open to boys and girls, entering incoming fall grades 5-12 who are dedicated to goalkeeping. Designed for the serious goalkeepers and those who have aspirations to play soccer at the collegiate level. The HGA Residential Camp focuses on both the physical and the mental aspect of goalkeeping. Its goal is to enhance each player’s technical, tactical, physical and psychological ability in order to become a successful goalkeeper. This camp will push goalkeepers to their limits. Campers will be divided into two groups, (Advanced: Fall 2013 Grades 5-8 and Elite: Fall 2013 Grades 9-12). Each group will have a 1:8 coach-to-player ratio, so as to sharpen the individual development of each player. The HGA Residential Camp’s professional staff will train and mentor the goalkeepers and ensure that they maximize their potential and improve their skills before leaving the camp. Our philosophy is to expose all campers to various styles of coaching while focusing on the same techniques.

In addition to teaching the technical and tactical skills required by goalkeepers, the HGA camps also focus on teaching the goalkeepers to establish a presence and be leaders on the field. Most activities are performed in a game like environment to ensure that the goalkeepers understand when to apply the technical and tactical skills. At the HGA camps, youngsters learn that it is as important to prevent shots, as it is to make a save.

Off the field the learning continues with lectures, video analysis, question & answer sessions. A high level of competition, plus outstanding instruction, offers an unparalleled learning opportunity for goalkeepers at the Hare Residential Goalkeeper Camp. Written evaluations will be given to the high school incoming juniors and seniors and incoming college players at the end of camp. Written evaluations are available for high school players and incoming freshmen. Players are deaf or hard of hearing are welcome to attend.
