Which of the Puma Soccer Cleats should you buy?

It all depends how serious of a player you are, what level of soccer you play, your age and also…how much money you (or your parents) can spend.

Puma v1.08

One of the lightest soccer cleats on the market and only one of all Puma soccer cleats high-end model with microfiber upper.

  • Released: January 2008.
  • Upper: Textile, microfiber with grip texture.
  • Outsole: Split TPU frame with full length carbon fiber plate with 17 point-bladed studs.
  • Available for FG, SG (6 removable conical studs) and Trainer (for artificial turf).
  • Weight: FG and SG - 7.6oz/215g; Trainer - 9.4oz/266g
  • Size: 7 and up.
  • Available in Junior sizes: 4-6.5
  • Recommended for advanced players.

    Puma v3.08

    Mid-range, less expensive version of v1.08. I like it, it's made out of true leather.

  • Released: January 2008.
  • Upper: Full-grain Leather.
  • Outsole: TPU plate with 17 point-bladed studs.
  • Available for FG, SG (6 removable conical studs) and HG (TT version with multiple rubber point-bladed studs).
  • Weight: FG - 9.4oz/266g; SG - 10.2oz/289g; TT - 11oz/312g
  • Size: 7 and up.
  • Not available in Junior sizes.
  • Recommended for competitive and advanced players.

    The least expensive version of v1.08 model.

  • Upper: Soft fabric with PU coating and quilted vamp.
  • Outsole: Double-density TPU plate with 17 point-bladed studs.
  • Available for FG, SG (6 removable conical studs) and HG (TT version with multiple rubber point-bladed studs).
  • Weight: FG - 9oz/255g; SG - 9.8oz/278g; TT - 10.2oz/289g
  • Size: 7 and up.

    I think they are one of the best Puma soccer cleats ever. Just right behind Puma Kings.

  • Upper: Kangaroo Leather.
  • Outsole: TPU plate with 10 point-bladed studs and 6 split point-bladed studs.
  • Available for FG and SG (7 removable conical studs).
  • Weight: FG - 9.6oz/272g; SG - 11oz/312g
  • Size: 7 and up.
  • Not available in Junior sizes.
  • Recommended for advanced players.

    Puma v-Kat II GCi

    Mid-range (less expensive) version of v-Konstrukt boots. Great choice for those, who can't afford the high-end version.

    Perhaps the best of all low-end soccer cleats, considering the cost and the quality of these Puma soccer cleats.

  • Released: August 2007 (not confirmed).
  • Upper: Full-grain Leather.
  • Outsole: TPU plate with 12 point-bladed studs.
  • Available for FG, SG (6 conical screw-ins) and HG (TT version for artificial turf).
  • Weight: FG - 10.6oz/300g; SG - 11oz/312g; TT - 12.2oz/346g
  • Size: 7 and up.
  • Available in Junior sizes: 2-6.5
  • Recommended for beginner and recreational. Although not bad for higher level players.

    Created in honor of the 40th anniversary of the King boots. Truly remarkable soccer cleats for very affordable price.

  • Released: June 2008.
  • Upper: Kangaroo Leather.
  • Outsole: TPU plate with 12 conical studs.
  • Available for FG, SG (6 conical screw-ins) and HG (29 low profile conical studs).
  • Weight: FG - 11.5oz/326g; SG - 13oz/368; HG - 12oz/340g
  • Size: 7 and up.
  • Available in Junior sizes: 2-6.5
  • Recommended competitive and advanced players.

    A bit unusual for the lower-end version to have a slight different design (asymmetrical lacing) then the leading model.

  • Released: June 2008.
  • Upper: Full-grain Leather.
  • Outsole: TPU plate with 12 conical studs.
  • Available for FG, SG (6 conical screw-ins), HG (29 low profile conical studs) and TT (multi-studed rubber).
  • Weight: FG - 9.8oz/278g; HG - 11.8oz/335g; SG - 11.6oz/329g; TT - 10.4oz/295g
  • Size: 7 and up.
  • Not available in Junior sizes.
  • Recommended for competitive and advanced players. They are also great for beginners and recreational players (much better than Esito XL). Unfortunately they are not available in smaller (junior) sizes. I am surprised and...disappointed.

    The only Puma King cleats with bladed studs and besides Liga XL, the only ones with asymmetrical lacing. Great shoes, though.

  • Available for FG, SG (7 bladed removable studs) and HG (25 low profile conical studs).

  • Available in Junior sizes (Synthetic upper): 2-6.5
  • Recommended for competitive and advanced players. Although Junior model suites better beginners and recreational players only.

    The name says it all. Classic “look” and classic technology. The most universal soccer cleats (just like Adidas Copa Mundial). You can use them on hard, natural surfaces as well as on firm grounds.
